NexGard is a monthly flea, tick, mange, mite, and lice protection treatment for dogs. Protection against ticks

NexGard protects against deadly ticks on dogs, including the paralysis ticks, bush ticks, or brown dog ticks, for 5 weeks (35 days). However, to minimise tick paralysis, it is essential to search for and remove ticks daily.

Protection against mites

NexGard chewable offers effective ear mite protection and treats and controls demodectic mange caused by Demodex spp. and sarcoptic mange caused by Sarcoptes scabei.

Protection against lice

NexGard can also protect dogs from the skin irritation and hair loss caused by biting lice. It also helps minimise the likelihood of lice reinfestation by controlling their population.

NexGard Chews - Method of Working

NexGard contains afoxolaner as the active ingredient. Afoxolaner is an ectoparasiticide, meaning it kills external parasites (fleas, ticks, and mites). Afoxolaner kills adult fleas before they lay eggs. Afoxolaner is also a highly effective tick treatment for dogs (paralysis ticks, bush ticks, and brown dog ticks). Moreover, afoxolaner prevents flea tapeworm infestation with its rapid action on their primary intermediate host, the fleas.

Nexgard Spectra for Dogs

Nexgard Spectra for dogs is an advanced, multi-spectrum treatment for fleas, ticks, ear mites, roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms. It also prevents heartworm disease in dogs. The oral treatment provides protection against listed parasites for almost a month and is highly palatable for dogs.

A potent broad-spectrum anthelmintic tablet Milbemax is an effective dewormer for dogs. This oral treatment treats and controls different intestinal worms such as whipworms, roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms. The unique formula also works to protect dogs from harmful heartworm infection. When used according to label directions, Milbemax is safe for dogs from 2 weeks of age, weighing 0.5 kg, including breeding, pregnant and lactating dogs.

How does it work?

It contains two active ingredients Milbemycin oxime and praziquantel. The first ingredient Milbemycin oxime disturbs the nerve transmission in intestinal parasites and eventually kills them. Then these worms are eliminated from the host through natural mechanism.

Praziquantel the other active ingredient causes muscle spasm in tapeworms, which then are attacked by enzymes and disintegrates in the digestive system of the host animal. Thus, the unique formulation treats and controls intestinal worms, and when given monthly, prevents heartworm infection.
